It is possible to have fun while resisting. This weekend, Indivisible Berkeley, East Bay for TJ Cox, Working America, Swing Left East Bay, Indivisible East Bay, Flip the 14, Open Progress, and Sister District team up with Uptown Oakland art galleries, aerial dance troupe Bandaloop, musicians (including Johnny Harper and samba-reggae drumming group Batalá San Francisco), and, of course, food and drink vendors, to present Paint Congress Blue: Art & Action Festival. Check out inspired political art at Mercury 20 Gallery, Manna Gallery, Roscoe Ceramic Gallery, SLATE contemporary, Local Language, Gallery at the Werkshack, and the Fourth Wall Gallery as you nosh on food from Forage Kitchen, sip a little wine — and hear from your congresspersons as well as Central Valley Democrats vying to flip their districts blue. Plus, each volunteer political group will have a booth with more information and ways to get your resistance on.
