When: Sat., Feb. 7, 10:15 a.m. 2009
The first weekend after football season means no more excuses for being a couch slouch. Start at the bottom and work your way up with a Sierra Club-organized hike to Oyster Point Peak, on Saturday, Feb. 7, at MountDiabloState Park. Described as a "moderate to leisurely paced hike," this might be just the thing to stretch those atrophied legs and climb using those remote-controlled toughened hands. Hikers meet at 10:15 a.m. at the Curry Point parking lot, or carpools leave from Rockridge BART at 9 a.m., and return to the trailhead by 5 p.m. -- just in time to watch basketball! $6 per car entry fee. 510-522-1590.
