Since its inception in Berkeley in 1996, the band, along with musical director Roberto Borrell, has found the perfect balance between tradition and innovation; its repertoire matches Cuban standards with compositions from the band members that expand the parameters of the music with sharp, contemporary arrangements. The group's expert musicians, featuring jazz fiddler TregarOtton, exhibit a charismatic presence that turns every performance into a celebration.
