Orchid-Growing Workshop

When: Thu., Feb. 28, 7 p.m. 2008

With more than 28,000 species and 300,000 registered cultivars, orchids are the world's most diverse plant family. They can be grown indoors and outdoors, in many different climates. They bloom in every color -- even green, brown, and black. For hundreds of years, they've cast an irresistible spell over aesthetes of every stripe. An introductory orchid-growing workshop on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Danville Library (400 Front St., Danville) includes instructions on the selection, care, nurturance, and maintenance of these exotic horticultural marvels. 7 p.m. CCCLib.org
