One-Year Anniversary Party

When: Sat., Nov. 1, 9 p.m. 2008

Helping to keep live music thriving in the East Bay, the Uptown celebrates its one-year anniversary (under new management) with a stellar lineup of East Bay bands -- the Lovemakers (famous for the stripper-worthy "Shake That Ass"), the Heavenly States (husband-and-wife indie rockers who earned their stripes as the first American band to play Libya), and Minipop (who wooed a local audience with their ridiculously catchy single "Like I Do," and who're technically from the West Bay, but we'll let it slide). Come out to ensure the club keeps supporting local bands, and provides a venue for your drunk ass to keep rockin'. On Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Uptown (1928 Telegraph Ave., Oakland). 9 p.m., $15.

Price: $15
