One of These Things Is Not Like the Others

There's punk in Nashville, pop in Seattle, and indie rock in Oakland; deal with it. Communiqué is one of Oaktown's biggest rock exports, having recently toured with Against Me!, Tegan and Sara, My Chemical Romance, and Taking Back Sunday. More New-York-post-punk than LA-emo, Communiqué is just edgy enough to attract those fickle hipsters. The group's new EP Walk Into the Light, out Oct. 17 on Sabot Productions, features its most infectious songwriting yet: a solid set of five rockers guaranteed to appeal to a broader audience than 2004's Poison Arrows, a style-before-substance affair anchored by the excellent single "Cross Your Heart." Download the Killers-esque "Got Your Number" from the new one or head to Communiqué's MySpace page for more.
