An accursed antique mirror makes life miserable for a family. Could be worse. Could be Google Glass. TV honcho Mike Flanagan’s shockeroo has its moments, especially in the visual department, but it also crosses a large number of the easiest cheap-horror-flick tripwires. Example: When you see a swinging-ship’s-anchor booby trap in the first reel, you can believe somebody’s going to get anchored in the last reel. Too bad – Rory Cochrane (as poor mixed-up Dad) and Karen Gillan (runner-up in the Jennifer Lawrence lookalike contest) do a decent job running up and down dark hallways. Not terrible but not very special either. Written by Flanagan, Jeff Howard, and Jeff Seidman (104 min.).
