Oakland Raiders: Baltimore Ravens

When: Sun., Jan. 3, 1:15 p.m. 2010

The Raiders get to play a game in January, which in most years would be something worth celebrating. This year it merely means the NFL schedule ran out of room to fit all the games into one calendar year. That said, it is possible that Sunday, Jan. 3's game against the Baltimore Ravens may be a harbinger of better things to come in 2010. Although the Oakland footballers will miss the playoffs again by a large margin, the gap between the margin and the basement is shrinking. Oakland has had a pretty good finish to a pretty awful season, and battles one of the tougher squads in its division to finish things up. The January game ends this year's season, but may give fans hope for a meaningful January in 2011. Oakland Coliseum (7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland). 1:15 p.m., $36-$162. Raiders.com
