Hey, you know what would help Oakland’s problems finding cash to hire cops? If its cops wouldn’t intimidate and grope eighteen Asian women anymore! Last night, the City Council agreed to shell out $2 million in order to settle a federal lawsuit, in which sixteen plaintiffs alleged that former police officer Richard Valerga groped and sexually harassed them. Two additional plaintiffs had already received payments from the city resulting from similar complaints about the pervy policeman, who plead no contest to charges of false imprisonment and civil rights violations.
