Gospel & Vocal, Holiday Music

Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir

When: Wed., Nov. 28, 12-1 p.m. 2007

They've performed with Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, and the Dixie Hummingbirds. They've sung for Nelson Mandela, Bishop Tutu, and the prisoners at San Quentin. Their artistic director, Emmy Award-winning Oakland native Terrance Kelly, is the son of piano legend Ed Kelly. The multiracial and multicultural 55-member Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir has performed around the world but marks the start of this year's holiday season right here at home with a free noon concert on Nov. 28 in City Center Plaza, between Broadway and Clay Street and 12th and 14th streets.
