Oakland East Bay Symphony

When: Fri., April 15, 8 p.m. 2011

For its fourth and final New Visions/New Vistas premiere, the adventurous Oakland East Bay Symphony presents the world premiere of drummer Scott Amendola's Fade to Orange. For the performance, Amendola joins forces with soloists Nels Cline (lead guitarist for the alternative rock band Wilco), and bass player Trevor Dunn. Also on the program: Bernard Hermann's lively suite from Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, conducted by John Kendall Bailey, and, giving Michael Tilson Thomas a run for the money, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 conducted by Michael Morgan. Don't miss the pre-concert talk with Amendola and Bailey. At the Paramount Theatre (2025 Broadway, Oakland) on Friday, April 15. 8 p.m., $20-$65. 800-745-3000 or OEBS.org.
