Huh. Apparently, the Oakland Police Department can look into the cop shooting of Oscar Grant after all. In the days after a BART police officer shot Grant, most officials thought that the transit authority had the exclusive jurisdiction into the affair. And so did we, to be honest. When BART Officer Frank Crabtree killed a man back in the early 1990s, we recall, BART’s bailiwick was repeatedly used as an excuse for other police departments not to get involved. But now that thousands have seen films of Grant’s death, BART officials have welcomed Oakland’s involvement, according to the Trib. YouTube does some interesting things.
