When: Sat., April 7, 12 p.m. 2018
National food blog Foodbeast is hosting an over-the-top, all-you-can-eat Asian food festival where the food promises to be outrageous, colorful, and cross-cultural, courtesy of more than 20 Bay Area restaurants, food trucks, and caterers. Oakland’s Dragon Gate Bar & Grill and Berkeley’s Chick’n Rice will both be in attendance, but for the most part, Noods Noods Noods presents an opportunity to feast on San Francisco foodstuff without crossing the bridge. You’ll find Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine (Daughter Thai Kitchen’s sister restaurant), Boba Guys, Pabu, Matcha Café Maiko, and perhaps most excitingly, International Smoke, Ayesha Curry’s new restaurant where it’s just about impossible to get a reservation. International Smoke will serve Dungeness crab and red curry soup, a modern interpretation of Thai tom kha. Other offerings promise to be sillier, such as instant noodles tossed with biryani masala, poke dusted in Pop Rocks, and ramen-wrapped fried shrimp. A $60 ticket gets you access to every vendor for a specific time slot, but you can also pay $10 for a more limited selection of pay-as-you-go options.
