Oakland City Council President Ignacio De la Fuente’s anti-nepotism ordinance died in committee earlier this week, sez the Chron. The ordinance, which would have required all “city officials and supervisors to disclose all familial, romantic or cohabitant relationships they have with other city employees,” got locked up in a 2-2 tie. De la Fuente and Jean Quan liked the law; Nancy Nadel and Jane Brunner said no. Nacho vowed to bring it up before the full council at a later point.
