When: Sun., Dec. 31, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 2017
If staying up past midnight doesn’t sound particularly appealing, the Lawrence Hall of Science has you covered. The famed science museum is holding its annual balloon drop during the underutilized daytime hours of New Year’s Eve. This year, to accommodate the crowds, the countdowns will occur thrice, once at 11 a.m., again at 1 p.m., and one final time at 3 p.m. The fun of the drop is free with the price of admission ($12 for adults, $10 for kids), so we suggest spending the time between the drops exploring the distant universe and the hidden wonders of our very own home planet.
