It’s been a busy week for “Cloud Rap,” the budding Bay Area scene headed up by young Oakland rappers Squadda B and Mondre M.A.N., aka Main Attrakionz. The duo has been putting out tapes at an insane clip for a couple years, finally coming into their own with this summer’s 808’s And Dark Grapes II, but they haven’t slowed down at all.
To start, the Daily Cal’s Nastia Voynovskaya spent some time at Main Attrakionz HQ, in Squadda B's bedroom to be exact, during which they reflected on how fast things are blowing up.
As new releases go, Mondre teamed up with Dream Collabo out of Berkeley to release the MAN EP this week, which you can get from Bandcamp for whatever you want to pay:
Bay Area production duo Friendzone (originally members of Oakland’s Religious Girls and profiled this week in the Bay Guardian) put out Kuchibiru Network 2. It’s a monstrous, multi-genre collaboration that features Oakland personnel such as MAz and Shady Blaze in addition to a host of sattelite producers such as Silky Johnson, Ryan Hemsworth, Skywlkr, and more.

You can catch Main Attrakionz at The New Parish next week on Wednesday, Dec. 7 as part of the annual Oaklandish Give Back Benefit.
