When: Mon., Feb. 4, 4:30 p.m. 2008

Born in Cambodia in April 1975, the month that the Khmer Rouge took over the country, Navy Phim fled with her family to a Thai refugee camp four years later. They immigrated to the US in 1984, as Phim describes in her book Reflections of a Khmer Soul. Meet her on Monday, Feb. 4 in the conference room of UC Berkeley's Institute of East Asian Studies (2223 Fulton St., Berkeley), where a reading and book signing accompanies a slide show by photographer Stuart Isett, documenting Cambodian immigrants facing deportation. 4:30 p.m.
