Naomi Friedman: A Culinary Shopping Adventure in Berkeley

Veteran cook Naomi Friedman knows all the gustatory pleasures of Berkeley. She's spent years rummaging in farmers' markets and specialty stores, finding all the best stuff in the Gourmet Ghetto, Monterey Market district, and the international marketplace at the intersection of San Pablo and University avenues. On Saturday, Mar. 28, Friedman will lead a culinary shopping adventure,sponsored by the Commonwealth Club. It starts at Casa Latina (1805 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley) and will wind through the West Berkeley neighborhood that's home to a variety of restaurants and specialty stores, including Indus Village, Jamaican Soul Restaurant, Spanish Table, Country Cheese, and Chaat & Curries.
