Naitauba Fund-Raiser

Hailed as an avatar by his many devotees, Long Island-born AdiDaSamraj relocated to the Fijian island of Naitauba, where he wrote and taught about peace, bliss, sustainable energy, and divinity. As part of an effort to repair damage sustained to Naitauba during Cyclone Tomas, a fundraiser at St. John's Presbyterian Church (2727 College Ave., Berkeley) on Saturday, July 17, features a concert of classical Indian music and a showing of the art of AdiDa, who before his death in 2008 was a celebrated modernist painter and sculptor. 7 p.m., $20
