Fresh from playing Raindance, an outdoor electronic music festival near Truckee, Mozaic and Rob Monroy should have hot mixes on hand for their first appearance at Deep East. Mozaic is a veteran of the local electronic scene, playing weeklies like Housepitality and collaborating with heavy-hitters such as EPROM and DJs from the Dirtybird label. His sets run the gamut — including deep house and UK styles such as garage and bass — but always keep the beat up-tempo and danceable. Monroy started spinning records in the Nineties, mentored by British DJs that lived in the Bay. At his popular weekly party at Blue Lagoon in Santa Cruz, Monroy offers crowds an alternative to Top 40 electronic music, mixing underground techno and deep house. They’ll be joined at Lounge 3411 (3411 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland) by Deep East founder and resident DJ Nackt, who promises this lineup will be one of the best yet.
