While Hayward kids chased each other around the baseball fields near the Chapel of the Chimes, and their parents signed them up for Little League, a mountain lion lurked in the hills above, stalking three deer. Fascinated parents watched the animal for two hours, sez the Daily Review, and animal control officers arrived, just in case. But since the mountain lion didn’t approach anyone, the authorities decided: you mind our business, and we’ll mind ours. And everyone left feeling rather pleasant. We love it when things turn out nicely.
