Motion City Soundtrack

When: Aug. 24-25, 7:30 p.m. 2011

Even though the roots for the Motion City Soundtrack sound can be traced to seminal emo-leaning alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids, the Minneapolis quintet also has a bubblegum pop streak that runs through the band's canon. And for its upcoming two-night stint at The Fillmore, Motion City will be taking concert-goers on a tour of all four of its albums, playing each from start to finish. By performing I Am the Movie, Commit This to Memory, Even If It Kills Me, and My Dinosaur Life, the group will put its pop-punk sensibilities on full display via material produced by the likes of Adam Schlesinger and Blink-182's Mark Hoppus. And don't be surprised if newer songs from Motion City Soundtrack's forthcoming untitled spring 2012 album get sprinkled throughout both shows, too. At The Fillmore (1805 Geary Blvd., San Francisco) on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 24 & 25.7:30  p.m., $29.50.
