Medicinal Plant Workshop

When: Sat., July 24, 10:30 a.m. 2010

Spearmint for fevers, blackberry for sore throats, and burdock for gout: Plants have been used for centuries to alleviate common ills. At Ploughshares Nursery (2701 Main St., Alameda) on Saturday, July 24, a workshop addresses various ways of harvesting and saving culinary and medicinal herbs for later use. Plants and other supplies are at the nursery, but bring a decorative bottle with a rubber stopper. 10:30 a.m., free (donations accepted). PloughsharesNursery.com
