This cheery little turo-turo (point-point in Tagalog, or takeout shop) may feature a steam table and a heat lamp, but it puts out some of the freshest, lightest Filipino food in the East Bay. Marylou and Art Murphy, the mom and pop of the shop, dont bother with a menu; they just make whatever comes to them. Look for grilled meats, Chinese-style braised ham hock, coconut-stewed jackfruit, and dozens of other dishes with no English names but big flavors (if you ask nicely, Art dispenses samples). On weekends, folks crowd in for breakfasts of garlic rice, fish, and sausages.
