MARS: Fire & Ice -- Phoenix Mission Landing Live at The Crucible

Built to scan the atmosphere, record its surroundings, dig into the Martian crust with its robotic arm and analyze soil samples, NASA's Phoenix spacecraft is part of an ambitious mission. To coincide with its impact on the Red Planet, on Sunday, May 25, the Crucible (1260 7th St., Oakland) presents "Mars: Fire and Ice," a four-hour extravaganza featuring fiery demonstrations, space-exploration explanations, and Mars-themed games of skill. 1 p.m.
