Man of La Mancha

When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. and Sundays, 2 p.m. Continues through March 16 2008

You know the score by now: Tilt at windmills, dream the impossible dream, fight the unbeatable foe. That may be all anyone remembers from Joe Darion and Mitch Leigh's songs for Dale Wasserman's 1965 Don Quixote musical, Man of La Mancha, but Diablo Light Opera Company is here to remind us of the delusional misadventures of Miguel de Cervantes' immortal Knight of the Woeful Countenance. Paul Myrvold plays Quixote for the seventh freakin' time in this DLOC production helmed by former American Musical Theatre of San Jose artistic director Dianna Shuster, with Melinda Meeng as adored Aldonza and Robert Ponce as sidekick SanchoPanza. February 15 through March 16 at LesherCenter for the Arts (1601 Civic Dr., Walnut Creek) or 925-943-7469.
