Lower Oakmore's Secret Gardens and Storybook Homes

When: Sun., Aug. 13, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Nestled between the Glenview and Dimond neighborhoods, Oakmore was developed starting in 1926 with the completion of the Leimert Bridge. This "residential park" is filled with examples of charming storybook and period revival home styles and lovely gardens including a few "secret" ones. We'll see the recently daylighted Sausal Creek in Dimond Park, and learn about some of the builders who contributed to the area's character. Parts of the walk are moderately hilly. Leader: Laine Farley Oakland Heritage Alliance

Price: $10-$15
