Love Everywhere

When: Feb. 12-14, 12 p.m. 2010

Valentine's weekend marks a bittersweet anniversary: On February 12, 2004, San Francisco began legally marrying same-sex couples, unleashing a flood of happiness and a baffling tug-of-war over marriage. Support the eventual triumph of love over law by joining the Erika Chong Shuch Performance Project for Love Everywhere, a weekend of choreographed and spontaneous dances, audience participation, and all-around joy staged in public spaces throughout San Francisco. Meant to raise awareness of the fight for marriage equality, the events culminate in two performances during Glide's Sunday services, which will feature a slideshow of wedding photos, plus live music with lyrics excerpted from wedding vows contributed by the public. Friday, Feb. 12, at City Hall (1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Pl., San Francisco), noon; Saturday, Feb. 13, citywide (see Web site for times and locations); Sunday, Feb. 14, at GlideMemorialChurch(300 Ellis St., San Francisco), 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Free.
