.Long Haul Lawsuit After UC Cop Raid

Back on August 27, UC Berkeley police and FBI agents raided the Long Haul, the South Berkeley anarchist organizing space, seizing files and looking for information about the identity of two people who apparently used the space’s computers to email threatening messages to animal researchers. Now, lawyers with the ACLU and the Electronic Freedom Foundation have sued UC and the FBI, on behalf of two groups that work out of the space. According to the Berkeley Daily Planet, the lawsuit seeks to regain control of any information found on computers seized during the raid, to keep officials from acting on that information, and to obtain compensation for the damages incurred during the raid.
