Lighted Yacht Parade

When: Sat., Dec. 3, 5:30 p.m. 2011

Even if you don't own a boat (or keep company with those who do), you don't have to stick to the sidelines during the 35th annual Lighted Yacht Parade, during which illuminated boats float along the Oakland-Alameda Estuary for free viewing from the Alameda shoreline and Jack London Square. To join in the spectacle and see the illuminated vessels up close, hop aboard the Alameda/Oakland ferry, which sails in the parade, at the Alameda Ferry Terminal (2990 Main St.) on Saturday, Dec. 3. 5:15-6:45 p.m., $3.10-$6.25; free for children under five or with toy donation. 415-705-8200 or LightedYachtParade.com

Price: $30 to enter a boat; free to watch
