Let My People Go!

Rated NR 85 minutes 2011

Mild fun develops when a Finnish gay man named Teemu (Jaarko Niemi) comes to Paris and interacts noisily with the family of his boyfriend Ruben (Nicolaus Maury), a Jewish letter carrier. Actor Maury is especially good as the congenially sissified, completely manic Ruben, likewise Carmen Maura as Ruben’s mother. Director Mikael Buch and screenwriter Christophe Honoré keep a tight lid on things and go for the obvious yuks. You could do much, much worse. (96 min.)
