To honor an old New Orleans Christmastime custom for the first time ever, Picán Restaurant (2295 Broadway, Oakland) will celebrate Le Réveillon -- meaning "an awakening of the senses" -- every night in December. Executive Chef Dean Dupuis has devised a prix-fixe Reveillon menu whose four courses include braised brisket, absinthe oyster stew, molasses-glazed duck or pork tenderloin, and whisky and orange pain perdu with chicory ice cream. 5 p.m.-closing; $58, with wine pairings $75.
