Remember Death Wish? Well, what if Charles Bronson went all Saw on the hoodlums who killed his wife and raped his daughter? Thats the basic set-up of Law Abiding Citizen, a revenge flick that makes about as much sense as nonsense. Gerard Butler plays Bronson-wannabe Clyde Shelton; after his wife and daughter are murdered, he begins a decade-long plan for vengeance against the perps and the self-serving prosecutor (Jamie Foxx) who used plea bargains and reduced sentences to get his conviction. All this despite the fact that Shelton has already been locked up for killing one of his familys killers. How is the righteous sociopath doing it? Well, thats the nonsensical part of the movie that kinda negates the entertaining parts. Whoops (108 min.).
