Laughter Against The Machine

When: Mon., Nov. 14, 8 p.m. and Tue., Nov. 15, 8 p.m. 2011

It's an opportune moment for comedians Nato Green, W. Kamau Bell, and Janine Brito to unleash their brand of left-wing political humor ‚šš€šš particularly since Green, who is known around town for his knowledge of SAT vocabulary words and epicurean delicacies, is also a labor organizer. The group's next stint in Oakland is the last stop on a seven-city tour, which deliberately touched the most balkanized corners of the US, including DC, New Orleans, Dearborn, Chicago, and Phoenix. The performers compare their tour to "Doctors Without Borders" -- an apt analogy, if you consider laughter the best antidote to conflict. Expect an interesting travelogue, along with some fresh material and a few very special guests. At The New Parish (579 18th St., Oakland) on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 14-15. 8 p.m., $14-$18.
