Last Days in Vietnam – Documentarian Rory Kennedy (Ethel), armed with superb period footage and a talking-heads lineup that includes Henry Kissinger, whisks us back to the final days of the Vietnam War before the fall of Saigon in 1975, when the few remaining US personnel in South Vietnam had to decide what to do with thousands of their Vietnamese allies who feared death at the hands of the victorious North Vietnamese. Kennedy’s excellent doc clears up a few misconceptions but we’re left wondering anew about the advisability of American foreign wars against national liberation movements.
