Rated R 93 minutes 2017

Gillian Robespierre’s well constructed, attractively acted urban sitcom charts the tangled family life of a New York City writer (John Turturro), his wife (Edie Falco), and their two almost-grown daughters, played by Jenny Slate and Abby Quinn. “We’re a family of cheaters,” observes one of the girls. Yes, and young actresses Slate and Quinn make the most of director Robespierre’s (Obvious Child) knack with actors, alongside bright dialogue by Robespierre, Elisabeth Holm, and Tom Bean. Worth a look (97 min., 2017, rated R) (K.V.)
