Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi and Semi Precious Weapons

When: Mon., Dec. 14, 7:30 p.m. 2009

Highly manufactured pop juggernaut Lady Gaga has defined 2009 with the ubiquitous, infectious, high-fructose “Paparazzi.” And if you think you haven’t heard “Poker Face,” trust us, you have. Then there are all those ridiculous costumes, the keytars, backup dancers, and pyrotechnics. The 23-year-old Gaga has singlehandedly seized the high ground of theatrical pop performance art, so who cares if she can actually sing or play? Not I, nor the entire gay community. Gaga brings The Fame and The Fame Monster to the shuttered Bill Graham Civic (99 Grove St., San Francisco) for two nights this week. Opening: talented, self-serious hip-hop usurper Kid Cudi, whose massive ego battles with Kanye West’s — Godzilla-Mothra-style — for control of mankind. On Sunday, Dec. 13, and Monday, Dec. 14. 7:30 p.m., $48. APEConcerts.com.com
