Ladder of Gold: Jewish Music from Around the World

Best known for founding the Klezmer Mania! festival, Oakland-based violinist/composer Kaila Flexer presents "Ladder of Gold: Jewish Music from Around the World," a concert for children at the Oakland Library's Eastmont Branch (Eastmont Town Center, 7200 Bancroft Ave., Ste. 211, Oakland) on Tuesday, March 11. The program features Sephardic and Mizrahi tunes and instruments as well as original works by Teslim, the duo comprising Flexer and multi-instrumentalist GariHegedus, who can play the violin, viola, oud, sarod, saz, setar, tar, sarangi, and other Asian-diaspora instruments. 1 p.m.
