Kwanzaa Book Workshop

When: Tue., Dec. 28, 10:15 p.m. 2010

Just because Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a CaliforniaState University professor who spent time in jail for assault doesn't mean its principles of cooperation, collectivism, unity, self-determination, creativity, and faith aren't meaningful. At the Berkeley Public Library's Central Branch (2090 Kittredge St., Berkeley) on Tuesday, Dec. 28, a Kwanzaa Book Workshop gives the whole family a chance to honor these principles. Bring photos or other memorabilia to include in your book. Other materials will be supplied. 11:15 a.m., free. BerkeleyPublicLibrary.org
