Kids Go Green: Energy, Weather, Climate & Climate Change

When: Sat., July 11, 11 a.m. 2009

Having redoubled our efforts to eat sustainably, compost our waste, and use graywater systems, we're finally looking at a leaner, less profligate, less carbon-emitting future. But if the idea is really to curb ozone layer depletion and cadge away resources, then it behooves us to get younger generations in on the deal. The Chabot Space & Science Center (10000 Skyline Blvd., Oakland) offered to help with its series of Kids Go Green events, which teach children about solar-powered automobiles, windmills, energy-efficient homes, fuel cells, and hydropower. The next installment, called Kids Go Green: Energy, Weather, Climate & Climate Change happens Saturday, July 11. 11 a.m., free with museum admission ($10.95-$14.95). ChabotSpace.org
