Kermit Lynch & His Band

When: Wed., Oct. 7, 7 p.m. 2009

Kermit Lynch is well known to Berkeley's wine lovers for the care he takes with the libations he purveys at his Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant shop. What you may not know is that Lynch is also a guitar player and singer-songwriter. With the help of longtime pal BozScaggs, Lynch just cut his debut album, 38 years he left the music business to start his successful wine shop. Man's Temptation, recorded in Nashville with a band of session heavies, features Lynch's world-weary vocals and tunes by Dylan, the Carter Family, and Lynch himself. He'll celebrate with a bash featuring great wine, a menu prepared by Alice Waters, and his band. Lynch will wine you, dine you, and sing to you at the Great American Music Hall (859 O'Farrell St., San Francisco) on Wednesday, Oct. 7. 7 p.m., $125. GAMH.com
