A lot of beer festivals have huge crowds, long lines, and ample reasons to feel overwhelmed. That’s why Hop Culture Magazine has focused on curation with its Juicy Brews Festival, which will stop in Oakland after sold-out editions in New York and Pennsylvania. The organizers limit attendance to two sessions of 300 guests each. And it only brings 19 breweries that specialize in hazy IPAs and fruit-forward sour beers. Tickets include unlimited pours from a mix of East Coast and West Coast breweries, who will bring their founders or head brewers to chat with fans as well as uber-fresh, limited releases. Beer nerds, take note: Many of the participating breweries are hard to find in the East Bay, such as Dancing Gnome Beer, DankHouse Brewing, Great Notion Brewing, Little Beast Brewing, and Magnify Brewing. Proceeds will benefit Oakland’s City Slicker Farms.
