John King: "Cityscapes: San Francisco and its Buildings"

When: Thu., Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m. 2011

If writing about music is like dancing about architecture, than writing about architecture might be like singing monuments to life, which San Francisco Chronicle urban design critic and Pulitzer Prize finalist John King certainly comes close to in his accessible prose. Cityscapes: San Francisco and Its Buildings — a pocketbook extension of his weekly Cityscape column — contains full-color photographs alongside critical descriptions and historical detail of fifty diverse San Francisco buildings. King presents the book Thursday, Aug. 4, at Mrs. Dalloway's (2904 College Ave., Berkeley). 7:30 p.m., free. 510-704-8222 or MrsDalloways.com
