A longtime fixture on the blues scene, six-string wielding San Francisco native Joe Louis Walker has been plying his trade since the mid-Sixties. One of the genre's best-kept secrets, Walker has nonetheless recorded with the likes of TajMahal, Bonnie Raitt, and B.B King, while undergoing a musical journey that found him delving into psychedelic rock and gospel before returning to his blues roots in the mid-Eighties. After releasing last year's Duke Robillard-produced Between a Rock and the Blues,Walker got nominated for five awards in the upcoming 31st Blues Music Awards including Album of the Year and Contemporary Blues Album of the Year.
