Isadora Duncan Dance Awards

When: Mon., March 14, 7 p.m. 2011

Film has the Oscars, music has the Grammys, and Bay Area dance has the Isadora Duncan Dance Awards, an annual celebration of the world-class artists who create and perform around the bay. Among this year's nominees are Diablo Ballet's Jessica McClintock and choreographer and Mills College professor Sonya Delwaide. YAK Films director Yoram Savion will receive a special award for capturing Oakland's turf dancers in action. The ceremony also marks the Izzies' 25th anniversary, so expect an extra-festive evening with lots of boldface names, who will be meeting and greeting at the 6 p.m. welcome reception and the post-ceremony party. The festivities take place on Monday, Mar. 14, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Forum (701 Mission St., San Francisco). 7 p.m., free. 415-978-2787 or
