Isa Chandra Moskowitz is a cook, writer, and punk-rock aficionado, but above all, she’s a vegan with a vision. As an activist, she has used veganism to advocate for animal rights and to raise funds for earthquake relief in Haiti (via vegan bake sales). In addition, she’s the culinary force behind the food blog Post Punk Kitchen, a name inspired by being “older and facing the conundrum of growing up and making compromises that [our] eighteen-year-old selves might hate [us] for.” Now, with her new book, Isa Does It: Amazingly Easy, Wildly Delicious Vegan Recipes for Every Day of the Week, Moskowitz hopes to bring vegan cooking into mainstream American kitchens with nearly two hundred easy recipes accompanied by her own mouth-watering photographs. So stock up on Tofurky and kale and join her at Books Inc. (1760 Fourth St., Berkeley) to find out just how Isa does it all.
