Indie-Artisans Wanted for Plaid Friday Pop-Up Shops!!

Fri., Nov. 29 2013
We are excited to announce an exciting vending opportunity for your business at this year’s Plaid Friday (Nov. 29) festivities along the Broadway Corridor! As a fun alternative to Black Friday, Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent businesses on the busiest shopping day of the year.
From when the stores open until when the bars close, the Broadway Corridor will cater to savvy shoppers by offering them an amazing shopping selection, live music, raffle prizes, and other festivities. Our brick-n-mortar shops will be open later while artisans like you can set up a pop-up shop in the many venues, giving shoppers a full evening to shop, eat, drink, and play.

Criteria for Indie Artisans to participate:
• Set up at 6’ table by 5pm, breakdown when the venue closes
• Venue selection for each artisan is at the discretion of East Bay Express
• Encourage tabling staff to wear Plaid and/or decorate the table in Plaid/Holiday-themed décor • $250 for participation (only $225 for Oakland Grown members)
• Promote the event in your marketing, social media, and email channels
Benefits of participation:
• Be included in the event marketing, including an 1/8 page ad in the printed EBX Program Guide on 11/20/13
• Benefit from thousands of people coming to the Broadway Corridor to shop
• Help establish a fun, outside the big box annual holiday shopping tradition
• Promote supporting local artists, retailers, venues, and performers
• Attract new customers to your business, collect emails, and make new friends
• Celebrate the holidays with Oakland’s coolest shoppers and merchants
