Indian Jewelry

When: Fri., July 10, 8:30 p.m. 2009

21 Grand (416 25th St., Oakland) might be the Bay Area's longest running weirdo music venue, whether they're hosting the guy who did the soundtrack to A Scanner Darkly or some obscure local band who'll rip your face off. It appears their permit issues with the City of Oakland are over because Friday, July 10's show falls somewhere in the middle with "psychedelic, progressive, freestyle" goodness from six year-old electronic music trio Clipd Beaks. Think: melectronic drones, the death of structure, and general vocal mumbling. Uncompromising! They play with the ballsy, turgid Indian Jewelry and New York's Psychic Ills in an all-ages capacity. 8:30 p.m., sliding scale. 21Grand.org
