In Time

Rated PG-13 109 minutes 2011

Doomed sci-fi whatnot drops Justin Timberlake into a future where time is the only currency, everyone looks young and attractive, and people can live indefinitely, or not, depending on their wealth. Poor Justin Timberlake. The ninth-grade-writing-project scenario is by writer-director Andrew Niccol (Lord of War), and costars Cillian Murphy as a “Timekeeper” cop, Amanda Seyfried as a rich man’s daughter, and Vincent Kartheiser as the rich daddy. There’s nothing quite so dull as a threadbare science-fiction plot that tries to rescue itself with pretty faces and chilly mannerisms. Nobody should waste a minute of their life on this baloney. (109 min.)
