Impressions From the CCA(C) Print Shop: The Famous, The Not So Famous, and The Totally Unknown

When: March 4-April 16 2011

Impressions From the CCA(C) Print Shop: The Famous, the Not-So-Famous, and the Totally Unknown comprises some 200 prints made over the past six decades from the collections of California College of the Arts teachers Jack Ford, Greg Piatt, and Tim Sharman. Works by famous names - Bechtle, Carnwath, DeForest, Oliveira, et al. - hang, salon-style, with works of lesser renown - Poopy Lickles, we hardly knew ye! Some prints are even unsigned and thus anonymous, but it's a generous and diverse sampling. Impressions runs through April 16 at Studio Quercus (385 26th St., Oakland), 510-452-4670 or StudioQuercus.com. Rowan Morrison Gallery ends its run with Rob Sato's humorous surrealist drawings and watercolors, one of which features a wicker man referring to the movie that gave the gallery its name. Don't miss Sato's mordant book on trans-species matrimony, Animal Husbandry. Blowing the Hatch runs through April 16 at Rowan Morrison Gallery (330 40th St., Oakland). 510-384-5344 or RowanMorrison.com
